At Truly, we’ve always had close ties with the aesthetics industry (you’ll hear more about this later) and

if we could give one simple piece of advice to anyone running a clinic, it would be to get your business CQC registered.

There are so many benefits and the only downside is the (to be fair, pretty long and complicated) registration process – but we don’t want those to deter you!

What Does Being CQC Registered Mean?

The CQC (Care Quality Commission) is the independent regulator of health and social care in England. They ensure that businesses that provide care do so to a high standard and encourage even excellent clinics to keep looking for ways to improve.

Being registered means that you have met their requirements and proved that your clinic offers quality care. They assess this by focussing on five key questions:

Is your clinic safe? Do you protect your patients from possible psychological or physical harm? Have your staff members been DBS checked? Are daily checks performed in the clinic? Have your staff member’s references been thoroughly checked?

Is your clinic effective? Does your clinic actually provide the results that it claims to? Are follow-up calls offered to patients after their treatment to ensure they are happy? Are audits completed accurately and regularly?

Is your clinic caring? Are your staff kind and respectful? Do they help your patients feel safe and happy? Are your patients involved in your decision making processes? Do your staff members ensure that any potential risks are detailed prior to any procedures taking place?

Is your clinic responsive to people’s needs? Are you meeting the needs of your patients and if not, are you behaving reactively to correct this? Do you adapt to the needs of your patients and respond to any complaints? How easy is it to book appointments based on individual needs?

Is your clinic well-led? Is management open and fair? Is the clinic organised effectively? Do your employees adhere to staff policies and the values of your clinic? Is your HR department equally well-led? Is your recruitment process thorough and fair?

If you’re answering ‘YES’ to all of these questions, then it might be time for you to get registered.

Why Get Registered?

So, we’ve already said that the registration process is long and complicated and then we’ve told you that the CQC will want you to show that you can meet all of their high standards, so why should you bother? In short, because of the acclaim that it’ll bring your clinic and the increase in revenue that comes with that. Getting registered will do so much more for your business, here are just a few other factors to consider:

Increases Credibility
The aesthetics industry is very competitive and every clinic claims that they offer fantastic results. Being registered means that an independent regulator agrees that you do, thus increasing your credibility.

Shows Your Standards
It provides you with undeniable proof that you hold yourself and your employees to high standards.

Regular Inspections
This might not sound great, but it is really important. It shows potential patients that those high standards of yours are actually being maintained.

Allows You To Offer A Wider Range Of Services
This includes:

  • Surgical procedures
  • Mole, skin tag and skin lesion removal
  • Cosmetic surgery
  • Threads
  • Diagnostics and screening (including ultrasounds)
  • Blood tests
  • Biopsies

So, getting registered means you’ll be attracting more clients and you’ll be able to offer a wider range of treatments. Oh, and about the actual registration forms, Truly Content can complete them for you!

Why Choose Truly?

Is getting CQC registered beginning to appeal to you? Of course, it is! Why not save yourself the stress of the application process and just hand it over to us to complete for you?

As we mentioned earlier, Truly has always had close ties with the aesthetics industry. When we started out, Ruth and Alice’s first clients were aesthetics clinics. We’ve been writing all sorts for them ever since and we have welcomed more clinics onto our books from all over the country. What’s more, due to their vast experience in aesthetics, Ruth and Alice actually founded their own clinic called La Fuente.
