Here at Truly Content, we’re big fans of the ‘ber months – you know, when the end of the year transitions from spooky to festive and there’s a lot to celebrate?! If you’re sad about the end of summer (and yes, we know that summer isn’t technically over until September 22nd), that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t start thinking about your upcoming social media posts to see you through to 2022. You might not want to hear it, but if there’s one thing you should be doing when it comes to your social media, it’s social media content planning.

If you want to know how to make your platforms autumn-ready but the very thought of this fills you with dread, settle in, have a cuppa and keep reading! After all, ‘tis the season to get nice and cosy…

Is It Time For A Colour Scheme?

Nothing screams ‘put together’ like a colour scheme, especially on Instagram. It’s the social media equivalent of wearing a matching bra and pants. We’re not saying you have to go orange and get a gourd in every post until the end of October, of course. As autumnal as this is, your social media platforms don’t necessarily need to be a pumpkin paradise until November rolls around. Creating a feeling of warmth and taking advantage of everything the season has to offer will help you and your followers max out your autumnal vibes in a slightly less obvious way.

There is, however, something about a carefully curated page that captures an individual’s attention. If you’re not into changing your page’s colour scheme entirely, you could use the colours from your own branding and utilise darker shades and warmer images to create a sense of unity across the board.

Speaking of unity, a great way to ensure your Instagram grid looks just as good as it does in your head, is to plan it. Planning your grid allows you to see your profile just as your current and potential followers would. How your grid looks plays a big part in whether or not people decide to follow you – that’s why it needs to reflect your business and its services, as well as looking aesthetically pleasing. Chances are, someone will follow your page before they invest in your services and you don’t want to put them off straight out of the gate.

The C Word…

That’s right… Christmas! Halloween might not have happened yet, but social media content planning in the lead-up to Christmas will make sure you’re ahead of the curve as we reach the busiest time of the year. After all, you surely don’t want to spend your Christmas bogged down with work, do you? Of course not! Life has a habit of becoming incredibly busy in December, so you might not find yourself with as much time as you’d like.

Whatever line of business you’re in, we have no doubt that you’ll be getting into the Christmas spirit come December and your social media platforms need to reflect that. As lively and fun as the season is, thinking of on-brand ideas isn’t always as easy as it sounds. If you’re struggling to think of what to post in the upcoming months, help is on the way!
